KC’s COSTUME FOR THE FASHION SHOW
When I first got the idea to do this doll I wondered how I would ever get KC to learn what he needed to pull it off. He’s VERY supportive but even *I* thought this was asking too much of him.
I enlisted the help of my friend, who happens to be an expert skier, and she convinced him that studying dance would improve his skiing, something we knew he was interested in doing. He bought that story and, surprisingly enough, it DID improve his skiing – this was the best year he’s ever had in that respect -- and, because of that, he didn’t stop his lessons in January, which was his plan, but intends to continue them as long as possible!
KC has been studying ballet since October and what he has accomplished in less than a year amazes me. The pictures below show his transformation into a Gothic Fairy Ballerina. Because I was busy making the doll he made his own costume and I still can’t believe what a great job he did. Here again is the doll he was dressing as.

KC:
KC had a short dance routine worked out for this show; but, when he discovered that the stage was carpeted and his feet would not slide, he had to modify it. Even then, once he got on the stage, he was unable to do the steps and he cut the routine short, before Jim had finished the write-up I’d given him. Here are some pictures of what he did manage to do.
